Building an off-grid house

So, a house then. We all need a place to live, preferably dry and warm, safe with a roof. Then it’s nice with some extras, like electricity, running hot and cold water, a small garden and so on. We’d want that too, but without using too much resources. We’d like to generate our own electricity, collect rain water for daily use (could well be a well too, the last word hasn’t been said about the water issue yet), and importantly, clean the used water before letting it out again. There will be plenty of compromises along the way, so don’t expect hardcore “green” only materials and solutions. For example, running a blog like uses energy that could have come to better use…

We’ll blog  about our solutions and compromises–when we start building in a few months…
